Their smiling faces said it all. Yes, many of them were toothless, with eyes that strained to see clearly and deep wrinkles that showed their years.
However, our Chinese New Year songs were magically lifting the spirits of the residents at Society for the Aged Sick. Their frail bodies were swaying, many in wheelchairs, clapping happily with our melodies. Their minds seemed to wander far away with fond memories. A few even shed tears of joy or perhaps, of old reminiscences. Oh, it was such a joyous sight to behold! |

| Our performing colleagues were clearly also enjoying themselves in front of their appreciative audiences. The gifting of hongbaos and oranges that followed the concert was a sweet and touching scene. We were so fortunate to be there to bring some festive cheer and joy to these senior citizens on Chinese New Year 2009. The happiness and gratitude in their eyes and smiles is our greatest reward even as we fulfil our social obligation as a responsible corporate organization. |
