His Portfolio

My job involves doing research and handling insurers who wish to seek entry into our CPFIS (CPF Investment Scheme) as well as to handle existing insurers with CPFIS approved insurance products on their queries.

My research involves extracting data from insurers and Agent Banks on a yearly basis. The data would be used to generate statistics to see the trends in the use of CPFIS for insurance.

I also handle enquiries and complaints from our CPF members with regards to insurance companies/their agents as well as all CPFIS changes affecting the industry. Liaising with industry players on insurance issues is also another aspect of my work.

Greatest Challenge at Work

When I joined the Board, it was about learning all the new jargon used. Right now, I would say it is the “detective” work we have to do to ensure that churning or unscrupulous switching are not prevalent in the insurance industry. I find these kinds of challenges exciting and adds spice to my day's work.

Some of the Most Memorable Moments in CPF Board

I would think it would be in my initial years when as a freshman, I was tasked to handle a wide-scale National Project for withdrawing CPF savings at age 55. During that time, we had to learn quickly on the job, relying on trial and error to handle all the enquiries and complaints from both external and internal customers. It is an experience which has served me well throughout my years in the Board.

Also, all the house calls that we made in the past to pass the cheque to the members and the satisfaction shown by our CPF members after receiving the “small” amount of monies. Not forgetting our CPF members who came from all walks of life whom we met at the interview rooms/counters. Without them, CPF Board would not be such an interesting place to work in.

Enjoy Best about Working in CPF Board

Nothing beats than having our great and wonderful colleagues around me!
