What’s this about?
The Central Provident Fund Board, together with the School of Business, Singapore Polytechnic, is inviting secondary school students to take part in a video / digital animation competition. The theme of the competition is “my future, my retirement, my cpf”.

What do I need to do?
Form a team of three to five and submit a video or a flash animation clip to illustrate the theme of “my future, my retirement, my cpf”. Show us your vision of your future, and how you think CPF is going to help you secure your retirement. There is no right or wrong answer, just let your imagination soar!

What’s in it for me?
You could walk away with cool cash prizes (see below). Plus, the top three entries will have their clips uploaded on the CPF website, which receives an average of 1.6 million hits a month. If you are a budding film maker or digital animation artist, that’s a good way to get some eyeballs for your work!

Prizes
1st prize : $1,500 cash
2nd prize : $1,000 cash
3rd prize : $500 cash
4th & 5th prizes : $250 cash

All video or animation clips must:
  • Be produced in English with English subtitles.
  • Be of broadcast quality and between 2:45 - 3:00 minutes.
  • Abide all copyright laws. If unsure, always seek permission or approval from the copyright owners before using copyrighted materials.

    Judging of Entries
In the preliminary round, the finalists will be short listed through:
  • E-Voting (50% weightage)
  • Assessment by internal panel of judges (50% weightage)

The finalists will present their video / digital animation clip to a panel of judges during the finals which will be held on 31 October 2008.

Finalists are also required to attend a rehearsal.

I have no knowledge of video editing, digital animation or CPF. Can I still take part?
This competition is the perfect starting point for you. There will be a workshop organised by the Diploma in Business Information Technology (DBIT) Team of Singapore Polytechnic for you to pick up basic video editing and digital animation skills.

To help you create your content, there will also be a briefing on what the CPF is, and how it helps Singaporeans to have a secure retirement.

    Who Should Participate?
Students with knowledge and keen interest in IT, particularly students in Infocomm Clubs. Your school may register up to three teams, consisting of three to five students per team.

Registration for this event is FREE.
