LAUNCH OF CPF INVESTOR EDUCATION SITE

News Release by:
Central Provident Fund Board

05 JANUARY 2004 --

The Board will be launching its “CPF Investor Education Site” on 5 January 2004 to help CPF members make more informed investment decisions. This dedicated site aims to introduce CPF members to the basics of investment. It also carries various CPF Investment Scheme reports and educational articles.

With the re-tuning of the CPF Scheme announced in August 2003, it has become even more important for CPF members to be prudent in managing and building their CPF nest egg. The Investor Education Site is one of the Board’s ongoing initiatives to help CPF members better prepare for their retirement.

CPF members who wish to invest their CPF savings should study their options carefully and understand the risks and prospects of their proposed investments. They should understand their own risk tolerance, adopt a long-term view and exercise prudence when they invest their CPF savings to ensure their financial well-being in retirement. CPF members have the option of keeping their savings with the CPF Board, which provides a guaranteed risk-free interest return.

The CPF Investor Education Site can be accessed via the CPF website at www.cpf.gov.sg.
