IMPERSONATION OF CPF OFFICERS

News Release by:
Central Provident Fund Board
6 OCTOBER 2003 --

It has come to the attention of the CPF Board that there have been cases of individuals impersonating as CPF Board officers and collecting money from members of the public. It is not the Board’s practice to send officers to collect monies from individuals.

Members of the public should therefore be vigilant when approached by anyone claiming to be a CPF officer. All CPF officers are identified by a CPF security pass, which has the name and photograph of the bearer. The public should ask for such identification.

All collection of monies by the Board are done either by cheque or Nets at CPF offices and/or through interbank GIRO. Cash payments can be made at all SingPost offices. For Economic Restructuring Shares (ERS) top up, payment can be made by either cheque, cash or Nets at CPF offices. Cash top-ups for ERS are also accepted at all SingPost offices.
