Wait for Special ERS Form

News Release by:
Ministry Of Finance

23 January 2003 --

Singaporeans in 1-room and 2-room HDB flats and welfare homes who have not got the Economic Restructuring Shares (ERS) must use Special ERS Forms to make the $50 CPF contribution for the ERS.

Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced in Parliament on Tuesday that grassroots organisations will help these Singaporeans get the ERS.

Grassroots leaders will be visiting eligible Singaporeans living in 1-room and 2-room HDB flats and welfare homes in the coming weeks to give them the Special ERS Form. They will also help those with financial difficulties make the $50 contribution. The CPF Board cannot accept the CPF contribution without the Special Form.

The Special Form must be submitted to the CPF Board with the $50 CPF contribution by 31 March 2003. The ERS shares will be issued on 1 May 2003.
