WINNERS OF FIRST MEDISAVE CONTRIBUTION DRAW

The CPF Board conducted its first Medisave Contribution Draw (MCD) on 2 June 2008, and is pleased to announce the top 3 winners:

Top prize of $3,000 cash: Mohamed Asri Bin Musa (SXXXX220F)
Second prize of $2,000 cash: Loh Poh Cheng (SXXXX006C)
Third prize of $1,000 cash: Poh Siew Tuan (SXXXX048J)

2.   The MCD aims to encourage low-income self-employed persons (SEPs) to contribute to their Medisave accounts. Chances are awarded in proportion to the amount of Medisave liability paid. One chance is awarded for every 10% of Medisave liabilities fulfilled - SEPs who have fulfilled all their liability would be given the maximum 10 chances.

Details of June 2008 Draw

3.   A total of 54,700 SEPs qualified for the June 2008 draw.

4.   Besides the top prizes, another 300 cash prizes of $100 each were also picked. The Board will be notifying all winners by post. In addition, the MCD results can be accessed via the Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) website at www.wis.sg.

5.   The top 3 winners were picked by Mr Wu Wai Mun, the Board’s Deputy Chief Executive (Collections and Corporate Infrastructure), via a computer programme. The draw was witnessed by staff from the CPF Board and Ministry of Manpower, as well as auditors from Ernst and Young.

Future MCD draws

6.   The June 2008 draw is the first in a series of four draws for work done in 2007. The second and third quarterly draws will be held in September and December 2008, with a final Annual Grand Draw in March 2009.

7.   Low-income SEPs are encouraged to fulfill their Medisave liabilities by 31 July, so as to qualify for the September draw. The MCD is open to all low-income SEPs who are Singapore citizens and satisfy the following criteria:

    a. Average monthly income of not more than $1,500; and

    b. Living in a property with an Annual Value of not more than $10,000.
