CPF Board's Service Transformation Journey Wins Global Stockholm Challenge 2010
 

Launched in 1994, the Stockholm Challenge is a biennial international award to recognise projects that use Infocomm Technology (ICT) to improve people's social and economic conditions and their environment. The award categories are:

  • Culture
  • Economic Development
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Health
  • Public Administration

The Public Administration category rewards the best ICT implementations in public programmes to promote better governance, administrative efficiency and transparency, citizen inclusion and democratic processes.

The Central Provident Fund Board (CPFB)’s “Service Transformation Journey” is the only winner in the Public Administration category at the Stockholm Challenge 2010 Awards. The other winners are:

The projects were evaluated by an international group of jurors, chaired by Dr Bebo White, renowned Internet pioneer and Department Associate (Retired) at Stanford University. The jurors looked for the most skilled applications of ICT in the areas of:

  • Empowerment
  • Equal Opportunity
  • Sustainability
  • Impact
  • Entrepreneurship and
  • Transferability
