Taking charge of your healthcare needs

Looking after our health becomes even more important as we grow older and are more likely to require health services. Therefore, it is essential for your peace of mind to know that your healthcare needs would be met in your chosen country, should that situation arise.

If you are living overseas, Medisave and MediShield cannot be used to pay for medical expenses incurred. You may want to consider taking up the necessary medical insurance that can help you with medical expenses incurred in the country you are staying in.

However, you will be able to use your Medisave savings to pay for hospital bills incurred by your family members in Singapore. Your family members can obtain the Medisave Authorisation Form (MAF) from the medical institutions where they seek treatment and send the form to you for your authorisation.

Check your Medisave balance here.

For more information on how you can use your Medisave savings, click here.

To estimate how much you can claim from Medisave and/or MediShield, you may want to try our Medisave/MediShield Calculator.
