Work regularly and train for a better tomorrow

Workfare is a holistic approach to encourage Singaporeans to work and train, through the Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) Scheme and Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme.

The WIS Scheme rewards work by supplementing the income and CPF savings of older low-wage workers when they work and stay employed. You can receive WIS of up to $2,800 per year if you meet the following criteria:

  • a Singapore citizen;
  • aged 35 years old and above;
  • worked at least 3 months in any 6 consecutive months in a calendar year;
  • earned an average gross monthly income of $1,700 or less (includes basic salary and additional wages like overtime pay and bonuses); and
  • stay in a property with Annual Value of not more than $13,000
