1. When will the changes be implemented?

Changes to CPF interest rates will take effect from 1 January 2008 and the new CPFIS restrictions will be effective 1 April 2008. The CPF draw-down age will be progressively raised starting from 62 currently to 63 in 2012, 64 in 2015, to reach 65 in 2018.

2. Will the CPF reforms affect CPF members who are Permanent Residents?

Yes, CPF reforms will apply to all CPF members, including those who are Permanent Residents.

3. What are the outreach efforts to educate CPF members on the changes?

The changes will be communicated to members through advertorials in the major local newspapers; the CPF and MOM websites; and a series of grassroots dialogue sessions.

An information kit has also been specially put together to highlight and explain the CPF reforms and other measures in simple language and with visuals to illustrate.
