The Web Excellence Awards aim to promote the continuous improvement of Singapore Government websites, and the adoption of web standards and best practices. The awards categories are:
Most User-Friendly Website The site that is easiest to use in both navigation and layout of information presented.
Best Content Presentation The site that delivers accurate and user information that is up-to-date and easy to understand.
Best Managed Website The site that conducts regular review on the performance and activities to raise awareness.
Best e-Service Delivery The site that provides utmost convenience for citizens via effective and easy-to-use online services.
The Singapore Government Web Excellence Awards had received strong support from government agencies. A total of 66 entries from 39 agencies were received.
In addition to a panel of judges, the Web Excellence Awards included public voting as a key scoring component. A viral campaign to promote the competition garnered more than 26,000 public votes for their favourite agency websites. Ten winners which set the benchmark of quality for government websites were chosen. CPF Board’s website (www.cpf.gov.sg) has won the highest accolade, the Outstanding Award, for the Singapore Government Web Excellence Awards 2009. CPF Board’s website also came in first in the following categories:
- Most User-friendly
- Best Content Presentation; and
- Best e-Service Delivery
