A common password is now all you need for any online transactions with the Government, from exchanging Economic Restructuring Shares for cash to filing a notice of marriage.
SingPass, meaning Singapore Personal Access, replaced the 8-digit CPF PAL PIN on March 1. This alphanumeric password, which comprises eight to 24 characters, is the online version of the identity card.
Mr Willie Tan Yoke Meng, the Board’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “With SingPass, users need to remember only one password to access government e-services. This makes it more convenient for users to transact with the Government. By end-2004, we expect all government e-services requiring authentication to offer SingPass access.”

The insurance cover, given on the basis of good health, is subject to the scheme’s terms and conditions. Premiums will be deducted from your spouse’s Medisave Account if he/she is working.
If you are currently not insured and wish to be insured, please call our enquiry line at 1800-227-1188 (code 6) to request an application form. Or, you can apply for the cover online by accessing the CPF E-Application Service (EASE) with your CPF Account Number and SingPass.
